Wrangler’s cowboy jeans were cut by a Polish immigrant tailor known as Rodeo Ben.
Bernard Lichtenstein emigrated from Lodz, Poland, and ran a Philadelphia western-wear shop. Working with champion rodeo cowboys, he cut a jean for the saddle, moving the rivets off the leather and raising the rear against the stirrup gap. Blue Bell launched it as Wrangler in 1947, every pair tagged “designed by Rodeo Ben.”
