Snapple began when two window washers and a grocer bottled juice that fought back.
In 1978 Leonard Marsh, Hyman Golden and Arnold Greenberg launched a carbonated apple drink called Snapple, buying the name for $500 from a Texas firm that owned it. Then a batch fermented and blew the caps off the bottles. Quaker Oats later paid $1.7 billion for the company, then sold it for $300 million.
