Pandora was floated on the stock market by a company called Prometheus.
In the Greek myth, Pandora was Zeus’s punishing gift to humanity after Prometheus stole fire. In October 2010 Prometheus Invest, the holding company of the fund Axcel, sold Pandora’s shares in the largest Danish listing since 1994, valuing it at $5.1 billion. Ten months later its chief executive quit, and the shares lost nearly two-thirds of their value in a day.
