Nvidia began as three engineers sketching a chip over cheap coffee in a diner booth.
It was a Denny’s in East San Jose, 1993. Jensen Huang had bused tables at the chain as a teenager, and he picked it because no one chased you out. The three founders wanted to call the company NVision, but a toilet-paper maker held the name. In October 2025 Nvidia became the first company worth $5 trillion.
