John McAfee left the antivirus company in 1994. In 2013, months after fleeing questioning over a neighbor’s killing in Belize, he posted the video, appearing to snort bath salts among half-naked women before shooting the computer. When Intel dropped his name the next year, he thanked it for “freeing me from this terrible association with the worst software on the planet.” In 2021 investors agreed to pay over $14 billion for McAfee.
