Maison Margiela’s label carries no name, only four white stitches.
Jenny Meirens and Martin Margiela, who founded the house in 1988, hated the idea of designer clothes. So every piece got a blank white label, tacked on with four stitches that show on the outside. Their lawyer told the two founders not to. They told him the name would be printed on the reverse side, and never printed it.
