Guinness signed a 9,000-year lease on its brewery.
In 1759, Arthur Guinness signed a lease for the St. James’s Gate Brewery in Dublin, at £45 a year. The term was not 50 years, or even 100. It was nine thousand. It would have run until the year 10,759.
