Ford did not invent the assembly line.
Henry Ford refined it in 1913. The idea of moving products past stationary workers existed in Chicago slaughterhouses before Ford. Ford reversed the logic. Instead of moving the thing being cut apart, he moved the thing being built together. The assembly line came from a disassembly line.
