Fendi’s counterfeiters were once chased by Sonia Sotomayor, by firm lore on a motorcycle.
Sonia Sotomayor spent eight years at Pavia & Harcourt, the New York firm that sued Fendi’s counterfeiters. She went with police to seize fakes in Harlem and Chinatown, and by firm lore chased one fleeing counterfeiter on a motorcycle. The fakes rounded up in 1986, thousands of them, went into garbage trucks at Tavern on the Green, a press event the firm called the Fendi Crush.
