Enterprise Rent-A-Car is named after a warship.
Its founder, Jack Taylor, flew F6F Hellcat fighters off carrier decks in the Pacific and came home with two Distinguished Flying Crosses. In 1969, when his St. Louis leasing outfit outgrew its first name, he renamed it after the aircraft carrier he had served aboard, the USS Enterprise.
