A pharmacist named Charles Alderton mixed the drink at a Waco drugstore in 1885, a year before Coca-Cola — and no one is sure where its name came from. For decades its logo carried the numbers 10, 2 and 4, urging a bottle at those exact hours, when its ads claimed the day’s energy sagged.
