Demis Hassabis had reached chess master standard at 13. After Theme Park he co-founded DeepMind in 2010 to build artificial intelligence inspired by the brain, and sold it to Google in 2014 for a reported £400 million. In 2024 he shared the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for AlphaFold, which predicts the shapes of proteins.
