Cinnamon Toast Crunch insisted a customer’s shrimp tails were clumps of its own cinnamon sugar.
In March 2021 the writer Jensen Karp tweeted photos of two sugar-coated tails, a piece of string and squares with black specks, all from one bag. He called the brand’s answer gaslighting. General Mills asked him to mail them in or take them to the police. He sent the box back and never said what the tests found.
