Call of Duty began as “MOH Killer”, made by Medal of Honor’s own developers.
In 2002, 22 developers of Allied Assault, Electronic Arts’ Medal of Honor game, quit their Tulsa studio and founded Infinity Ward. Their first game’s codename was MOH Killer. Activision paid $1.5 million for 30 percent of the studio, and the day after Call of Duty came out in October 2003 bought the rest for $3.5 million.
