Behance was paid for by paper notebooks it sold before its website existed.
Scott Belsky and Matias Corea shipped paper before code — an $8 Action Pad, then a $15 Action Book, sold at a 50% margin. Those sales paid for the network they put online in 2007. In 2010 Garrett Camp opened one of those notebooks to show Belsky a sketch of the car service he called UberCab.
