Baccarat’s name is on one of the world’s best-selling perfumes, and another house makes it.
For its 250th anniversary in 2014, the house asked Francis Kurkdjian for a scent, sold in 250 crystal bottles at €3,000 each. He named it Rouge 540, for the heat at which gold turns its crystal red. When a Neiman Marcus executive asked for more, Kurkdjian took the license to his own house, which LVMH bought in 2017.
