Armand de Brignac debuted in a Jay-Z video the year he boycotted Cristal.
In 2006 Jay-Z called a Cristal executive’s remarks racist and pulled the champagne from his 40/40 Club. Later that year his video for Show Me What You Got turned down Cristal for a gold bottle stamped with a pewter ace of spades. The champagne inside had not yet gone on sale, and Jay-Z had owned half of it since that year.
