Adidas and Puma were founded by two brothers who stopped speaking.
Adolf “Adi” Dassler built Adidas from his nickname and the first letters of Dassler. After a bitter falling-out, his brother Rudolf left and in 1948 started a rival across the river. He called it Ruda, then Puma.
