Quiznos toasted its subs when other chains still served them cold.
When Jimmy Lambatos founded Quiznos in Denver in 1981, toasting a sandwich wasn’t expected. Subway, the chain it would chase, served its subs cold. Quiznos built a toaster into the assembly line and made the heat the product. Subway added a toasting option in 2004 — 23 years later.
