Paramount’s mountain was a Utah peak its founder doodled on a napkin.
In 1914 W. W. Hodkinson, a theater owner from Ogden, founded Paramount to distribute films nationwide. By the legend Paramount tells, he doodled a star-crested mountain on a napkin during a meeting with Adolph Zukor, the peak of his childhood, Ben Lomond. Two years later Zukor took the company over and fired him, but kept his mountain.
