Gorilla Glue was discovered in Indonesia.
Mark Singer, a maker of teak furniture, found a polyurethane glue in Indonesian workshops, a kind of glue no American store then sold. It came from a small Danish firm, which made a few changes he asked for and sold him the North American rights. Singer named it Gorilla Glue, drew the gorilla, and launched it in 1994.
