Domino’s co-founder traded his half of the company for a used Beetle.
In 1960 brothers Tom and Jim Monaghan bought a tiny Michigan pizzeria. Eight months in, Jim swapped his 50% stake for the Volkswagen Beetle they delivered with. Tom kept building, and in 1998 sold Domino’s for about $1 billion.
