CamelBak was invented with a tube sock and an IV bag.
Michael Eidson, an emergency medical technician, was prepping for a Texas road race in 1989. He wanted to drink hands-free but couldn’t. He filled an IV bag with water, slid it into a tube sock, attached a tube, and wore it. Other riders asked for one.
